John Sempill

JOHN SEMPILL (aka JON SEMPL)

John Sempill, here treated, is the twin son of Robert Sempill in Linwood, elder The name of his mother is not known. He and his twin brother Andrew were born before 15 June 1655, the date upon which their baptisms were registered at Kilbarchan in Renfrewshire, Scotland. The baptismal record reads as follows: "The qlk day Rot Sempl in Linwood his sons twins were baptised called Jon and Andro Witnesses Walter Buchanan and William Thomsoune."
