John (73), a farmer, was found dead in his house on the Sand River smallholdings between Makhado and Polokwane shortly before midnight, on 19th November. He apparently had been hit on the head with a blunt object and dragged to his kitchen.

About 300 farmers searched with the police for the suspect.
