About John Stone

In the year 1613 two brothers of John built him a house in Bretherton this house still stands today and is called Carr House. An inscription over a doorway in raised letters reads Thomas Stones of London haberdasher and Andrewe Stones of Amsterdam merchant hath builded this howse of their owne charges and giveath the same unto their brother John Stones ano domni 1613.
