About John Harris Stuart
John Harris Stuart, 85, of Rt. 4, Shreveport, died at 1 a.m. today at his home following a long illness.
A native of Bradley County, Ark., Mr. Stuart had been a resident of Shreveport 53 years. He was a retired paint contractor and a charter member and deacon for 45 years at the Queensborough Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Ford Park Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Rose-Neath Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Park.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. J. F. Camille, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Ida V. Crain, Mrs. H. E. Simmons and Mrs. G. W. Hawthorne, all of Shreveport; Mrs. K. R. Bosher's, Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. S. L. Brown, East Point, Ga.; two sons, Col. T. E. Stuart, Weatherford, Tex., and C. H. Stuart, Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hays, Pine Bluff, Ark., and Miss Alice Stuart, both of Pine Bluff, Ark.; 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons of Mr. Stuart will serve as pallbearers.
