J. A. Utz Dies

John Arthur Utz, 80 years old, died last night at his home, 2918 Beck Road. He was the uncle of John G. Utz, county recorder of deeds. Mr. Utz, a retired farmer, was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County. He was a member of the Sparta Methodist Church; Parrot Masonic Lodge No. 308, at Maysville, Mo.; Mitchell Chapter No. 14, Royal Arch Masons and St. Joseph Council No. 9, Royal and Select Masons. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Seymour Utz of the home; one son, Fayette M. Utz, St. Joseph; five sisters, Mrs. W. H. Moore and Miss Anna S. Utz, both of St. Joseph; Mrs. D. F. Bigham, Easton, Mo.; Mrs. T. S. Lidstone, Dearborn, Mo. and Mrs. S. B. Neff of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, R. E. Lee Utz, Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
