Was reared in Franklin County, PA.
Learned the Tanner's Trade and started a Tan Yard of his own then became a Farmer.
In 1832 moved to Ashland County, Ohio and continued Farming for 17 years. Sold property then moved to Sangamon County, Illinois in Wagons and purchased 230 Acres of Land and resided there until his death.
