About John Watson
John Watson was the son of John
and Elizabeth (Reynolds) Watson.
He graduated Harvard College, 1776;
was one of the early founders of the
Old Colony Club, in 1769, and the
last surviving member of that association.
He was the first vice president of the
Pilgrim Society, and succeeded Judge
Thomas as president of the same, which
office he held till his death.
Mr. Watson was the proprietor of
"Clarks" Island in Plymouth Harbor,
where he resided for forty years; a
spot to which he was very much attached,
affording to him many antiquarian
associations, in which he delighted to
indulge, and to recount to his family
and friends.
