John Stephen Wolveridge

John Stephen WOLVERIDGE Baptished as Joseph Stephen Wholvridge. Born 3 Aug 1799, bap 22 Sep 1799 at St Matthew Bethnal Green, Joseph Stephen, son of John & Lucy Wholvridge (sic) (ref Ancestry Bap Marr Bur). No later baptism record has been found, and his age is constrained by his apprenticeship.

On the 3rd August 1814 his father signed an Indenture "that John Stephen Wolveridge Son of John Wolveridge of Thomas's Street in the Parish of Saint Matthew Bethnal Green in the County of Middlesex Painter and Glazier for the sum of Four pounds of W. Henry Dixon's Charity money by the Drapers Company being paid or secured to the Master as the consideration for taking his said Apprentice, doth put himself Apprentice to the said John Wolveridge" etc.(ref Ancestry Freedom of the City Admission Papers)

Marr (1) 1822 at Tottenham Middlesex of John Wolveridge to Jane BOND (ref Pallot's, Phill T Totterham Mdx). She was born c1803 at Shoreditch, Middlesex (ref 1861 census).

From the baptisms of the children, in 1827 John was of Acton Place, Gent; in 1829 he was of Kingsland Road, Victualler; in 1831 he was of Oxford Street, Victualler; in 1838 he was of Denmark Road, Licensed Victualler.
