About John F. Wortick
It all started for our family in the 1830 when Simon and Margaret Wartick left Darmstadt Hesse Germany to come to America. They settled in Fayette County PA about 1836 with 3 children. They stayed in Pa for almost 19 years than migrated to Adams County to seek their dream in 1855 and settled some land near Camp Point. Here they raised 2 Girls and 5 boys. Bet they wouldn't relize how big that Family would grow well over the 800 I have listed in my Family Genealogy which will be coming soon. Of these Warticks 4 served in the Civil War and Uncle Joseph received the Congressional Medal of Honor at Vickburg and Uncle John lost an eye.
