About John de Broughton, II, of Chalgrove

	Barry Wadeson » Janette Shonts:

Hi. I have nothing to do with your family except that I work for the Churches Conservation Trust that now looks after the Church of St. Lawrence in the village of Broughton, Nr Newport Pagnell. John de Broughton (c1331 - 1403) and his wife Agnes are buried in the chancel although the plaques marking their burial place was at some time placed on the south chancel wall. However, I'm slightly puzzled by the fact that you mention his father as being John de Broughton (I). The plaques, instead, say that his father was Robert de Broughton. I know they are in Latin but Robti is not the same as Johis (they're abbreviated). If you would like a picture of the plaques please contact me at b.m.wadeson@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do.
