At least one pedigree published by FamilySearch claims that Jon Leiper, here treated, is the same person as Robert John Leiper, who is said to have married Janet Reid on 9 November 1671, at Glasgow in Lanarkshire, Scotland. This is wrong. Evidence which proves the existence of a man named Robert John Leiper has not been found in the old parochial registers of Glasgow. FamilySearch
