The Painesville Telegraph dated Sept. 27, 1926 "Former Resident Claimed By Death"

John Gerber, Sr., who for a number of years was a resident of Painesville, passed away at his home in Cleveland, Sunday morning. His sudden death was due to heart failure. Mr. Gerber was born in Geneva, Switzerland, 61 years ago. He is survived by Mrs. Nellie Gerber and seven children.

Funeral services will be held at Lang's Chapel, Cleveland, Tuesday. The remains will be brought to Painesville, where there will be a short service at Evergreen Cemetery at 4 p.m.
