Jonathan Baldwin, son of Abiel Baldwin and Mehitable Johnson, was b. in Durham, Ct. on June 5,1758. He there m. SUBMIT LORD, (b. Sept. 1764, dau. of Christopher and Patience Lord, of Saybrook, Conn.). Altho some records would indicate that Submit died and he remarried to a Sally Ward; CC Baldwin indicates that that suposition is in error, since Submit lived 12 years longer than Jonathan. He also states that Sally Ward married not HIM, but his son Jonathan
They rem. first to Durham NY in the great emigration; where he was Deacon, and later removed to Atwater, Portgage County, Ohio in 1816, as did his brother Aaron. where he died July 1848. Submit died in Atwater in 1844, aged 91.
Children were: Densey (1785), Elihu (1789), Sylvester (1792), Patty (1794), Jonathan (1799), and Louisa.
