About Jonathan Seth Wolfson

My goal is to connect as many as possible of the 109 billion humans who have ever lived by relational paths. I'm an expert in noticing duplicate profiles so merge hundred of profiles per week.

One of my hobbies on this web site is to make it so that everyone on earth can see how they're related to a recently deceased or recently newsworthy famous person. To do this I need to extend their lineages back to profiles already on this web site, which happens 100% of the time when the notables are Anglo-Saxon Protestant and 100% of the time when the notables are related to famous Rabbinic dynasties, because most European Jews and Protestants who lived before the year 1750 are already on Geni; the trick is to find them even if their names are misspelled or their originators put their data bits into the wrong biographical fields or included a foreign name in the English section.

Geni management has appointed me to be a curator to build and improve the World Family Tree, merge duplicates, and assist users. You can find out more about curators on the Geni wiki:

http://wiki.geni.com/index.php/Curators

When merge requests are made, I immediately get to responding to the requests. And if I personally discover or if another curator discovers branches of a tree as having duplicates with other profiles on Geni, it is our goal to merge duplicates into a single profile.

Many members of Geni have been bewildered that they think I'm tampering with their own family tree. But this is a collaborative effort and there are many benefits to removing duplication and collaboration. See the mission of Geni:
