About José Padilla Sr.

José Padilla, Sr. was a lawyer from Quingua (now Plaridel), Bulacan. He became Governor of the province from 1928 to 1931. During his first incumbency as governor the provincial capitol was constructed in 1930. He was elected representative of Bulacan in the Philippine Legislature from 1931 to 1934. The most popular governor of the province of Bulacan is Mr. Padilla who has done great improvements for his province during the past many years. One of these improvements is the Capitol Building of Bulacan. Because of his unselfish work for the welfare of his province, he has been elected provincial executive many times. A governor-general of the Islands has dubbed him "the best governor Bulacan province has ever had."

He is also a pre war actor with the screen name of Mario De Cordova on the Movie Secreto de confesión (the first film spoken and sung in Spanish in the Philippines). Secreto de Confesión was Internationaly Distributed, screened with great box office success in the United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and several other Spanish speaking countries in the American continent. It also was shown in Macau, Hong Kong, Spain and Portugal.
