About Joseph Acol Amantiad

My Dad was a very happy type of person he can be very serious when come to families, He always thought of his brothers and sisters and never make his half brothers and sisters as steps, always like his real. My dad love to fish and always at the beach and going out to catch fish for all of his family before sells them. May dad never was a selfish person cause when ever he caught fish he always think for his families first. He love to have people around and always love to play music with the family and friends, he also played the guitar and love to entertain who ever comes to the house. We all misses him so much and now his with all his family in heaven. Here's my story about my dad.too. Daddy was a very loving and wonderful man. He like to hug us alot and sometimes pinch our face or ears. That's how much he use to get sooooooooponunt. (A word we use in filipino?I don't know how to describe in English? You know...????PONUNY...????No laugh???I'm serious? Ha ha ha ha ha.....and we loved him .You know, my dad only reach up to third grade. And he didn't have the chance to learn how to read and write properly.Oh he could write his name ,alright. Not until I got married my dad asked me to teach him how to read and write. He learned fast. He was like a sponge absorbing information. I was tripping-out. He even taught himself to use a type-writer.He got to be very good. Only thing...it was irritating hearing the type-writer every nite. Tick tick tick all nite. And then when we use to go church every Sunday at the Kingdom Hall....my dad use to close the meeting with a prayer....It was said in English for awhile, then all of a sudden?????in FILIPINO....????No Joke. But I give him alot of credit. He tried so hard and he accomplished alot in his life with us Amantiad kids. Altho he was kindna strict with us kids, he never spank us hard. Just kneel-down and face the wall. And guess what? We use to write letters to him on the wall, knowing that he won't read'em.That's how we Amantiads use to release our STRESS......Another thing too, remember the water in Waiawa? Cannot drink.right ..because it was from the home-made well? Well,my dad use to get drinking water from the Fire-Station up the hill...with ooku-pilela empty gallons. One day he told us guys to go get water up the fire-station, but we were lazy...and you know what????We filled all the gallons with water from the sink pipe and put some gallons in the ice-box. He didn't know about it. But whenever he went to drink water....we use to follow him to the kitchen and watch him. Boy! we was so scared that he might find out that we never went to the fire station to refill water. But as times pass by, I told my dad about what we did and he only laugh....and said...YOU THINK I NEVER KNOW????? He was so cool about us Amantiad kids. That's why I think we the Amantiads loves him alot.Found some more infor...from the "Our Family Root Book". Joseph Amantiad: part-time job as a Barber at Hickim Military Base, West-gate shopping center for Mr. Don Inocilda.Later he moved to Pearl-Ridge center for awhile until he got sick.He died in Kaiser Hosp.,due to Cardiovascular arrest...palpitation on Dec. 21,l973 at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
