BEMIS, Joseph, perhaps s. of Joseph of Wat. (1640), was a husbandman, a nd sold land in 1709 to Jonathan Robinson. The only other record found co ncerning him is dated 11 Nov. 1700, and recites that "there hath been of l ate a public contribution for the relief of Joseph Bemus and William Chamb erlain, their substance having been of late consumed by fire."
2. Phillip, m. Elizabeth Lawrence 21 Nov. 1723. Their children were bap tized as follows: Philip and William, 22 Oct. 1726; David, 30 July 172 7; Abigail, 25 July 1731; Edmund, 22 Oct. 1732; Zaccheus, 25 July 1736.
