About Joseph Frank Bertzyk, III

Fr. Studynski officiating. Attendants Paul Matzko & Florentine Kiefus. Moved to farm in Hartford Township, MN; They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 22, 1938. Retired in Oct 1938. Cause of death: Heart attack. Joseph came to this country in 1887, directly to Hartford. Joseph and Agnes were to be privileged to a long married life, observing both their golden and 60th wedding anniversaries. With the exception of a few years spent in North Dakota their entire married life was spent in Hartford, and after their retirement from the farm, in this village. Joseph was for many years a member of the school board in Dist 153 and also serviced for a time as a member of the Hartford town board. He was one of the sponsors of the school which he served so long. A kindly man, who enjoyed visiting and made an unusually large circle of friends. Joseph was held in high esteem. He was a member of St Mary's Church
