About Joseph Cranch Bond
Joseph Cranch Bond was an importer and dealer in chronometers, astronomical and scientific instruments, and a manufacturer of watches. He had a store near the Traveler's office on Washington St. Boston, Mass.
William Cranch Bond, his father, was professor of Astronomy and Director of the Observatory at Harvard College, Cambridge, Mass. William Cranch Bond married, in 1819, his own cousin, who was born in Devonshire, England and died in 1831 in Dorchester, Mass.
