About Joseph Chipman
Descendant of Mayflower passengers John and Elizabeth (Tilley) Howland
Joseph Chipman was born on January 10, 1694 at Barnstable. Massachusetts. He was living in Groton, Connecticut, in March 1720 when he bought land in Haddam. In November 1720, he was listed as a resident of Haddan. Joseph died on 17 January 1733 and his estate was proved on September 4, 1733 (Hartford Probate District X:1306). The estate was valued at 351/15/06 and his widow, Annah, was administrix and guardian of the children.
