JOSEPH FERRIS

Joseph Ferris was born on June 23, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were Joseph and Genevieve (nee Bershara) Ferris and they were of Lebanese descent. He died on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Massachusetts. Joe was 77 years of age.

Joe was a resident of suburban Boston, MA. and a former resident of Bloomfield Hills, MI. He was proud to have attended the University of Detroit, School of Engineering. Joe was a longtime businessman and entrepreneur in the semi-conductor industry.

Joe was the beloved husband of Linda L. Weller-Ferris, PhD and they were married for 34 years. Dear father of Micki Ferris Karrer (Steve), Elissa Ferris Karathanasis (Sotirios, PhD.), Joseph E. Ferris, Robert J. Ferris, PhD (Jenny) and Lindsey M. Ferris (Tim Bushman). Loving son of Genevieve "Jean" and the late Joseph. Brother of James Ferris and June Ferris. Also many nieces and nephews. Also his dogs, Charlie and the late Buddy. Family appreciates the loving care of Lahey Cancer Institute and VNA of Middlesex-East Hospice.

The Ferris Family will receive friends on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48073. The Funeral Mass Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Owen Catholic Church, 6869 Franklin Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301. Visitation at church begins at 10:30 a.m.
