About Joseph Ervin Foertsch
Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday, June 20 in St. John's Catholic Church, Wyndmere at 10:00 am for Joseph E. Foertsch, 33, who died Saturday. He was stricken with a heart attack while assisting to load cattle at a neighbor's farm.
Father Lawrence Strandenaes will be celebrant at the Mass. Visitation was held at Vertin's Funeral Chapel in Wahpeton on Wednesday and at the Church Wednesday evening, at which time a rosary was recited.
Joseph Ervin Foertsch was born near Barney on July 17, 1929 and served in the Army in Alaska during the Korean conflict. He married Dori Davis of Mooreton on October 21, 1954.
Survivors include his wife, seven small children, Curtis, Paul, Sandra, Dale, Jean, Charles and an infant daughter born Sunday, June 16, 1963. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Foertsch of Wyndmere, also survive. There are three brothers, Louis, Melvin and Raymond all of Wyndmere; and four sisters. Mrs. Morris (Hildagard) Lunde, Fergus Falls, Minn; Mrs. Lester (Eleanor) Durkee, Minneapolis; Mrs. Robert (Isabell) Howe, Los Angeles and Mrs. Robert (MaryAnn) Blazek of Wyndmere.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Lidgerwood Knights of Columbus and the Wyndmere American Legion.
Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Wyndmere American Legion.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Gira, Edmund Schultz, Arnold Foertsch, Joseph Krump, Virgil Pausch and Lawrence Lugert.
