Joseph (18), and Johannes Swart (30), were shot dead in their beds, in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, on 20th February 2003, said Mopani police spokesperson Maano Sadike.
Swart, the manager of Tunnel Plaza between the Strydom tunnel and Hoedspruit, and his assistant Greyling were sleeping in their quarters adjoining the centre when intruders broke in and shot them.
"The intruders then ransacked the room before breaking into the plaza's bottle store and supermarket," said Mopani police spokesperson, Captain Moatshe Ngoepe. "The room was topsy-turvey.
Every drawer was pulled open and the safe was also open and empty."
Their bodies were found at about 07:00 when shocked employees arrived for work.
"Swart was found with two bullet wounds to the head while Greyling was shot once in the head and once behind the ear," said Ngoepe.
The suspects stole a bakkie and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, household items as well as liquor and groceries.
The bakkie was later found abandoned on the Tzaneen road about 20km from the scene.
