Will dated 9 Dec 1937. Executor Margaret. Signed by S. Hart. 5 Oct 1940. It appears that Marie, David, Samuel, Agnes, Gladys and Julia are named in the will. Actual beneficiaries : Samuel, Agnes, Gladys and Julia (£732.4.1 each). 2 children of Robert Hope - Kenneth William and Claude Robert (£204.9.8 each) 3 children of Thomas (Isabelle, Margaret Thomson (b. Hart), Frank (£150.0.0) Marie Charolotte Cook's daughter (£445.14.3) David Jonathan's son (£445.14.3)

Additional note on the same card: Ground expropriated by Admin Cape of Good Hope, 4 June 1955, £4,900 (for Westerford School) - from whoever was living in the house then...

Burial record shows burial at Plumstead Cemetery, 23 Sept 1940, position 42C.

Personal recollection of Gary Hart, great grandson, from his father, that Joseph died at home at Oak Cottage, Mount Road, Rondebosch. Also that Joseph and Margaret had 13 children.
