In 13 Oct 1697 Falls MM ordered 10 Friends to "hear and end differences between Joseph Kirkbride and Peter Webster and their wives"; 5 Apr 1699 he and Stephen Beakes announced their intention of going to England to visit Friends (Joseph's wife concurred), and returned to the colonies later that year.

At his wedding to Sarah Stacy, among the witnesses were Sarah (Sarah Stacy Kirkbride), Matthew (son by Phebe Blackshaw), Jane, and Thomas Kirkbride. Also at his wedding to Mary Yardley, among the witnesses were Mary (Mary Yardley Kirkbride), Mathew (son by Phebe Blackshaw), Thomas (son of his brother John), Jean, Joseph Jr. (son by Phebe Blackshaw), Phebe (eldest child by Phebe Blackshaw), and Martha (daughter by Phebe Blackshaw) Kirkbride.
