Fort Myers News-Press, 2004-11-20 - Joseph J. Lane, 80, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004 at his residence in N. Ft. Myers. He was born in Providence, RI and served his country in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Lane made his home in Melville, NY for many years and was emplyed as an electrical engineer for Fairchild Republic in Farmingdale, NY before retiring to Florida in 1989. He was a Catholic and attended St. Francis Catholic Church, and was also a member of the Ft. Myers VFW. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen, his seven children, two brothers, a sister and 14 grandchildren. Military honors will be celebrated at Arlington National Cemetery next spring.
