Joseph Libby, born in Scarborough, Maine, circa 1671, was the servant to Capt. John Pickering in 1699 (and served as a witness for him that year). In 1710, his occupation is given as fisherman. He died "soon after" acknowledging the covenant at his home, 5 December 1718. Had he lived longer, he would have had a Barrington, NH right. His widow, Rebecca, married 2nd, 21 January 1723, Thomas Muzeet of Kittery, Maine. [Source: "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and NH", p. 434]
