About Joseph Lloyd
Joseph Loyd's daughters were related to Gen. Anthony Wayne (Mad Anthony Wayne). In looking through my material that I have collected, the connection between the Loyd and Wayne families would be through the Faulkner family. Anthony Wayne's grandfather married a Hannah Faulkner. A Joseph Loyd married a Faulkner in1725 in Philadelphia in the same time period that Hannah Faulkner and Anthony Wayne came to America from Holland. Also Issac, Anthony Wayne's son went to church at St David's Church at Radnor at the same time as a Joseph Loyd who was there in the early to mid-1740s. Joseph Loyd who was born in1745 was supposed to have been born in Radnor Twp. He owned land there and made saddles there from 1765 to 1775. Isaac Wayne had the biggest tannery in Pa. I believe Joseph Loyd was not only a customer there but also related. Also Isaac Wayne's son , "Mad" Anthony Wayne, went to church there the same time as Joseph Loyd , the saddler..It appears that all the Loyd (Llloyd) families come from the same place and all are descended from the same person. They all go back to Wales and the family name always goes back to a place in Wales. In my research of Joseph Loyd, I believe the date for his death is more likely 1808...I have never found him any Census or tax records after 1800. I still believe he died in Jefferson County, Ohio. I believe Joseph and Hannah Loyd moved there when Eli Loyd did. They may have died there and Eli moved back to Pennsylvania after this.
