Joseph Preston Murphy

Joseph Preston Murphy was a Frisco Police officer who died in the line of duty January 29, 1968 in an automobile collision on the way to a call. He was the brother of actor and World War II hero Audie Murphy.

MEMORIAL PHOTOS 2 FLOWERS 21 Patrolman Joe Murphy was killed in an automobile accident while responding to assist members of the Celina Police Department. His vehicle collided with a grain truck that was making a U-turn on State Highway 289.

Patrolman Murphy had served with the agency for months. He was survived by his wife, child and brother. He was the brother of WWII hero and actor Audie Murphy.
