Never ill in his life.Contracted bad case of flu in the flu epidemic of the winter of 1998/1999 which claimed at least 8 lives.Collapsed and suffered massive heart attack and stroke on Friday 5 February 1999.Clive and I went out to see him, not expecting him to survive.He was lucid, but suffered a further attack on the Tuesday.Transported by ambulance to Malaga for a scan, when he had sworn never to set foot in Spain again. He was unaware.Suffered further attack and died on Tuesday 16 February.Neither Son could possibly make it to the funeral: burials in Gibraltar must take place within 24 hours of death...His First Holy Communion gift? A baby sister, Luisa.
