About Joseph Prince

Biography

Joseph Prince (b. abt. 1672 Salem Village), began life under a veil of tragedy. He was only two years old when his father Robert Prince, passed away.

Around the time his mother remarried Alexander Osborn, she disavowed his inheritance by breaking his father's will. This was a scandalous and inappropriate decision within the context of patriarchal inheritance laws. Then in February of 1692, she was incarcerated for witchcraft and died a few months later.

Joseph Prince married Elizabeth Robinson in Salem (Village?) on 3 Jan 1698.
