Son of James F. Racey & Nancy J.Manifold Obituary of Joseph L. Racey; Died Near Arbela March 28
Joseph L. Racey was born at Libertyville, Iowa, December 25, 1855, and died at his country home four and one half miles north of Arbela, Missouri March 28, 1926, at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 3 days.
In the spring after his birth the family moved to Scotland County, Missouri and settled in the community where he spent his entire life.
On March 13, 1887, he was united in marriage with Emily Louise Arnold. To this union three children were born - Gene F., Glen A. and Robert F. This wife and mother was called to the spirit world on October 10, 1898, and on July 3, 1900 Mary V. Maddox entered the home through the door of matrimony and took up the duties of wife and mother which she has performed faithfully and well through the years.
