Tiffin Daily Tribune December 18, 1894 page 4 column 3 KANSAS J. D. Reese went to Edon, Williams County, last Thursday, in response to a letter stating that his oldest brother was very ill. He arrived there at noon and at 3pm his brother died, surrounded by his family, after a lingering illness.

Tiffin Daily Tribune November 15, 1904 page 5 column 5 The residents of Kansas were shocked to learn of the death of J. D. Reese at noon today. He had gone to Alma, Mich., where he was being treated in a sanitarium and it was found necessary to perform an operation on him and he was taken to a hospital in Chicago, where the operation for gall stones was performed which resulted in his death this morning. He was aged 68 years and leaves a wife and one son, Charles, who is engaged in the grocery business in Fostoria. He had lived in Kansas for forty years and was one of the most prominent residents there.
