About Joseph Ringer

Additional Curator's Notes:

According to the book Pioneers of old Monocacy: the early settlement of Frederick County, Maryland by Grace L. Tracey and John Philip Dern, Matthias Ringer, the son of Johan Matthias Ringer (1692-1749) was born in Bad Rappenau in Kraichgau, Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany). He married Maria Magdalena Nischicker on 6/27/1717. She was the widow of Johan Jacob Schneider. Soon after the wedding the family came to America. Many researchers have concluded that Matthias and Maria Magdalena are the parents of Joseph Ringer. However, this book never lists Joseph as their child. There is currently no proof that they are the parents of Joseph Ringer.

Please do not add parents to this profile without proof of lineage. Thank you. Maria Edmonds-Zediker, Volunteer Curator, 3/23/2012

I have not found any solid clues yet as to who Joseph RInger's parents really are. If anyone has found such records, please share them here or with me. We have some old unidentified tin types that could be family members. Would love to compare them with other old tin types handed down though Ringer, Infield or McClintock families. Thanks, Patty Ringer Brown
