Joseph Rizzo

Biography

Joseph Rizzo was born on April 15, 1909 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, United States. His parents were Salvatore Rizzo and Carmella Rizzo (Romano). He was the second son born to them and named after his maternal grandfather Joseph Romano.

Joseph Rizzo was married briefly, but we do not know her name.

In the 1930s, his cousin Biagio "Rudy" Rizzo remembers being a young teenager about 15 years old and living across the street from his cousin Joseph Rizzo and his wife on Greenview in Chicago. He remembers one day that Joe's wife wanted to kill herself and she threw a quarter down out of the window for Rudy to buy a bottle of iodine. Then his Aunt Carmella Rizzo and cousin Frances Grace Rizzo came down the street and stopped him.

He died on November 28, 1995 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, United States and was buried in St Joseph Cemetery & Mausoleums (Section II, Lot 983, Grave 1), River Grove, Cook County, Illinois, United States.
