2. Joseph 15 THOMPSON was born in 1703 in New Kent Co.Va.. He died in 1765. He was living in Fluvanna Co.Va.. They settled in that part of Albemarle Co.Va. that later became Fluvanna Co.Va..They lived near Palmyra.Joseph was commissioned Sheriff Feb 8,1744 by the Governor of Va.The following list of children was taken from the memorial of George Thompson,no.51.Will named children Frances,Leonard,John,Roger and George and granddaughter Sarah Clairborn Woodson.It is assumed that his other children were deceased,but due to the fact that his sons in their wills did not name all their living children,we cannot be sure.Said to be the eldest child.Ref: Albemarle Co.Va. Will Bk.2 p.117, Order Bk. 1744-48 p. 2.,Va.Mag. Vol.58p.238-241.One of his daus. Mary,Ann,Elizabeth was the mother of Sarah Clairborn Woodson.

He was married to Sarah CLAIRBORN (daughter of Col Thomas CLAIRBORN and Anne FOX). Joseph 15 THOMPSON and Sarah CLAIRBORN had the following children:
