About Joseph Alonzo Wiggins
Joseph fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War. He enlisted as a Private and rose to the rank of Corporal. He was in the 41st Mississippi Infantry, Company K. He was killed in action somewhere in Virginia between 1862 and 1864. His name was inadvertently omitted from the monument on the courthouse square in Macon in honor of all those killed during the war.
