Little Compton Families, Benjamin Franklin Wilbour, page 357 They lived on the road south of the Commons on the place owned in 1890 by Otis Wilbor's widow in 1870, and in 1920 by Mr. Isaac Howland. He and his wife were buried in the Old Wilbore Cemetery south of the house. The original house was over the wall east of the present house. In his will, made in Little Compton January 11, 1728 and proved June 5, 1729 he bequeathed to his wife Anna all household stuff, money, debts, etc.,and improvement of the biggest room in the house for life and 10 dollars per year; to the son William certain land and buildings; to son John 25 acres of land; to son Thomas his homestead farm and dwelling house; to sons Benjamin and Stephen 5 shillings each; to daughters Ann Wood, Mary Eldridge and Abigail Wilbore 50 pounds each; to grandson Joseph Clossen 15 acres of land and 40 pounds; to son-in-law Thomas Burgess 5 shillings; to nine children all the rest of his estate. 2. Monument in the center of the Cemetery This monument erected to the memory and by the bequest of George Wilbor son of Joseph Wilbor and Hannah Wilbor, designates the spot where repose his mortal remains. He was born at Little Compton, state of Rhode Island February 25, 1797 and died at the city of New Orleans, state of Louisiana October 27, 1835. His remains were interred in this place November 26, 1835. His aged Father and si× of his surviving brothers share the fruits of his munificence this burial place of his ancestors and his beloved mother, is enclosed and suitable monument erected, to their memories.
