Joseph Gardner Young, (also spelled 'Gardiner') son of William Goodall Young (1827 - 1894) and Adelia Clark (1826 - 1906), was born 15 February 1852 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah Territory. He married Alice Viola Porter (1855 - 1921) 13 October 1876; they had eleven children. Alice died in 1921; eight years later Joseph married Grace A. Hagle, daughter of Henry A. and Mary F. Hagle, on 18 November 1929 at Los Angeles, California. Joseph Gardner Young died 26 June 1933 in Oxnard, Ventura County, California, and was buried at Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah, Plot: B-3-9-3W.
