About Josephine Kinney
Josephine Harvey Kinney , 90, formerly of West Alexander, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont.
She was born September 1, 1913, in Center Township, Greene County, a daughter of Samuel and Irene Carter Harvey.
Mrs. Kinney graduated from Center Township High School and was a homemaker.
She was a member of West Alexander Presbyterian Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and trustee.
Mrs. Kinney worked for West Alexander Board of Elections and served as a superintendent for West Alexander Agricultural Fair Board in the art department.
She was a volunteer for American Cancer Society, for Scouting programs and was an active member of several nature study and conservancy organizations.
She enjoyed walking, gardening and Bible study.
Her husband, William L. Kinney III, is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Bonello of Latrobe and Kathryn Whitacre of New Kensington; two sons, William L. Kinney IV of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Joseph Kinney of Valley Grove, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, Kathryn and Michael Bonello, William and Julie Kinney , Andrew Whitacre, Elizabeth Whitacre Szanto, Matthew and Brian Hunter and Amanda Hunter Gephardt; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Stewart of Waynesburg and Jeanette Perkey of Muncie, Ind.; and a brother, Samuel Harvey of Graysville.
Deceased are two sisters, Evelyn McDonald and Kay Harvey.
