About Josephine S Primus
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 16th at 12:30 PM at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Josephine S. (Primus) Tonnell, age 93, of St. Cloud who died on Tuesday at the Country Manor Campus in Sartell. Rev. Tony Oelrich will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday between 4:00-8:00 PM and on Friday after 10:00 AM at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. St. Augustine’s Christian Women will pray at 4:30 PM followed by the Waite Park American Legion Auxiliary at 6:30 PM and the Parish Prayers at 7:00 PM.
Josephine was born September 28th, 1916 in Clara City to Eugene and Josephine (Zurn) Dondelinger. She married Jerome Primus on November 30th, 1939 and he died on April 13th, 1969. She married Herbert Tonnell October 30th, 1976 and he died on September 21st, 1980. Josephine was a resident of St. Cloud most of her married life. She and Jerome owned and operated Primus Well Drilling for many years, and later was employed for Cathedral High School. She volunteered for the American Red Cross. Josephine was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Christian Women, and Waite Park American Legion Post 428 Auxiliary.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne Olson, Sartell, grandchildren, Rollie (June), Steve, Mike (Sue) and Dennis (Cyndy) Olson, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and son-in-law, Eugene Olson, four sisters and one brother.
