Mrs. Joe C. Sheppard
Mrs. Joe C. Sheppard, 79, widow of the late Rev. Pickens Sheppard, died at 5:30 Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arlie Mooney of Prattsville.
A life-long resident of Arkansas, she was born in 1873 in Grant County, a daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Archie Brumbelow.
She was a member of the Liberty Baptist church until it was disbanded then she placed her membership with the Sheridan Baptist church.
Her survivors include four sons, W. A. Sheppard of Poyen, A. T. Sheppard of Benton, Guss Sheppard of Burbank, Calif., and D. E. Sheppard of Bath, N. Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Arline Mooney of Prattsville, Mrs. Alice Henson of Little Rock, and Miss Ada Ann Sheppard of Sheridan; twenty-eight grandchildren; and fifty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Arlie Mooney of Prattsville by Rev. Jim Kelley and Rev. H. L. Laster.
Active pallbearers were: Sheppard Mooney, George Mooney, Bobbie Rae Mooney, Alford Sheppard Jr., Harold Sheppard and Leonard Hollinger.
