Joshua Edwards

Joshua Edwards b.1710 d. 1729 has the exact vital dates as Jerusha Edwardses (a daughter) dates. As there has always been the fact except for this list, that Rev. Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) was the only son of Rev. Timothy Edwards and his wife, Esther Stoddard Edwards, I find calling "Joshua" a brother of Rev. Jonathan to be a fabrication and not a true son of Timothy and Esther. He appears to be an imaginary person. There has never been any mention of a second son, "Joshua" in this immediate Edwards family. What is your true record? Have you consulted any real histories or records? Have you read his name in family letters? Did you ever ask the Yale Divinity School's "Jonathan Edwards Center" if Joshua was a brother? This family's records are abundant, very well documented from their lifetimes until now. I am sure "Joshua" is not a long-lost brother, or ever existed. There are other New Egland Edwards families...is he a member of one of them? Might check that out. As a descendant of Rev. Jonathan, I do not accept Joshua as a brother if his, but possibly a misconstruing of the handwritten name of "Jerusha", at best. Something is Wrong! Adele Shepard.
