Joshua Goad

Joshua was not mentioned in his father, Abraham's will because he predeceased him. A Joshua Goard served in the 6th Virginia Colonial Line. One source shows he was a member of Capt. Peter Dun's company of the 6th VA Regiment. (from Microcopy 246, Roll 103, Revolutionary War Rolls 1775-1783, VA Jacket numbers 165 - 1 though 180 - 2). It is concluded by Goad researchers that Joshua was the first of two of his sons to die during the Revolutionary War while in the military service.
