Robert Treat Paine

(1731-1814)

Massachusetts Representative

Robert Treat Paine represented Massachusetts in the Continental Congress. He signed the Declaration of Independence and later served in the House of Representatives for his state.


Josiah was in Plymouth in 1631. He may have arrived on the White Angel at Saco in June 1631. Josiah resided in Scituate, then removed to Marshfield where he served as town clerk

from 1646 until his death.

He was buried Dec. 1, 1674.
