About Juanita Avalos
Sometime in Juanita's life, she was a "Soldadera" for Pancho Villa. Dont know alot of this other than what dad says. When dad was a young child, his mother died. Since he was young, Teodoro left the younger children with Juanita to care. By this time, Juanita was married to Dominic. Dad remembers one afternoon when Juanita was drunk, she went out the back fields or back yard, and started shooting up in the air with her rifle. She would hollar "Viva Pancho Villa.... Viva La Revolucion". Of course dad was to young to understand what this meant. He only knew, that his aunt was drunk and shooting up in the air. He remembers this because the kids thought it was funny to see her do this. When uncle Dominic would arrive home, dad would run to his uncle and tell him that his aunt had done something funny.
