About Juanito V. Calumpang
Juanito Valencia Calumpang was a Filipino civil servant. He graduated from the four year normal course of the Philippine Normal School (now Philippine Normal University) in 1915, a class that included future senator Esteban Abada (The Cablenews-American, 1915). He served as an academic supervisor of the Department of Public Instruction (now the Department of Education) for the provinces of Rizal, Bohol, and Negros Oriental (Progress, 1930). He and his daughter Carolina were casualties of the sinking of S.S. Corregidor on December 17, 1941. His son Leonardo and cousin Jose E. Romero survived.
