Judge Bullard was the son of John and Lilly Bullard. He married Emma Jane Moore on Jun. 30, 1910 in the Burnt Swamp section of Robeson county, North Carolina.
The following was taken from the Jan. 11, 1977 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:
Early Bullard, 88, who died Sunday at Scotland Memorial Hospital following an extended illness, was a judge in the maxton Recorder's Court from 1954 until 1958. He was the first Indian judge in Robeson County. A retired farmer from the Prospect Community and Pembroke businessman, Bullard was a former trustee of the Cherokee Indian Normal School, now Pembroke State University.
Funeral services will be held Wendesday at 3 p.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Harvey Lowry. Burial will follow in the Bullard Family Cemetery.
the body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 p.m. at Revels Funeral Home.
Surivivors include a large family and a great number of friends.
