"Judith Eaton was the daughter of Abel Eaton of Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts and Dorcas Coombs Eaton of Falmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. Abel was married three times. Abel married Sarah Brown on 26 January 1763 in Georgetown, Sagadahoc County, Maine.

"Dorcas and Abel were married on 22 October 1750 in Brunswick, Cumberland County, Maine.

"Abel married Ruth Marriner on 05 March 1778 in Bath, Sagadahoc County, Maine.

"Judith married Moses Staples about 1775 at Deer Isle, Hancock County, Maine. Judith and Moses had thirteen children. They were: Hannah Staples was born on ; Elizabeth Staples was born on ; Dorcas Staples was born on ; Sarah Staples was born on ; Judith Staples was born on ; Alexander Staples was born on ; Moses II Staples was born in 1778 on Swan's Island, Maine; Joshua Staples was born in 1783; Abel E. Staples was born about 1785; Judith and Moses' descendants formed the largest family on the island."
