Judith (Blish), Welch, 70, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Robert S. Welch, died Thursday (April 22, 2010) at Manchester Hospital. Born June 27, 1939 in Hartford, daughter of Grace (Ames) Blish of Glastonbury and the late Dwight A. Blish, she was a life long resident of Glastonbury. Judy had been a waitress at the Country Corner and the Glastonbury Coffee Shop and had also worked at Harpo's Bakery in South Glastonbury. After retirement she worked part time at the Glastonbury Citizen. Judy enjoyed gardening, knitting and decorating her house for the different holidays. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, camping and playing cards with her husband Bob. She enjoyed Thursday night Duck Pin Bowling and was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law; Sheryl Buckley of Stafford Springs, Deborah Ferwerda of Coventry, Penny Chapman of Coventry, Robin and Kreg O'Brien of Colchester, a brother David Blish of Glastonbury, six grandchildren Jody Buckley, Amy Bishop, Eric Mulholland, Austin, Connor and Braeden O'Brien and several nieces and nephews.
